副題 ／SubTitle	The Routledge Companion to Children's Literature and Culture の一部を講読し、児童文学研究とジェンダー、階級、人種など現代社会の諸問題との関わりを理解する。
授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	20世紀終わりごろからの児童文学には、社会格差や民族間対立、性暴力やいじめ、性的マイノリティの問題など、現代社会において子どもやその家族が直面する問題をリアルにとらえた作品が多くなっている。その一方で物語の語り方や言語の使い方について世の中の「コンベンション」を解体しようとする先鋭的なスタイルを持った作品も見られる。英語圏のものを中心にこうした作品に目を向けつつ、「児童文学」とは何か、それを研究することにどういう意義があるのかを考察したい。 この授業は「児童文学および児童文化に関する広い視野と高度な知識を身につけていること」および「研究倫理の遵守と、専門分野に関する適切な研究方法に支えられた、高度な情報収集能力を持ち、文献・資料を読み解く力を身につけていること」を目指している。
授業概要 ／Course description	Claudia Nelson, Elisabeth Wesseling, Andrea Mei-Ying Wu, Eds. The Routledge Companion to Children's Literature and Culture (Routledge, 2023) の一部を講読する。 初回の授業で各回の講読範囲と担当者を定める。各回において担当者が講読範囲の訳文を作成して教員および他の履修者に配布する。その上で、各履修者が交互に講読範囲の英文を音読して和訳し、最後に全員でディスカッションしたいと考えている。

準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	【予習】各回の講読範囲については、担当者以外の人も前もって読み、音読・和訳できるよう準備しておくこと。（各回2時間） 【復習】ディスカッションの内容と教員のコメントをふまえ、講読範囲の要点をノートにまとめる。（各回2時間） ※授業に英和辞典を持参すること。 ※講読範囲は進度を見て調整する場合がある。
教科書・参考書等 ／Textbooks	【教科書】テキストは必要部分をコピーして配布する。 【参考書】授業内で適宜紹介する。
成績評価の方法 ／Evaluation	【評価方法】 訳文の提出（40%）、授業内での音読・和訳（40%）、ディスカッションへの参加（20%）を合わせ60%以上を合格とする。 【評価基準】 新聞記事やテレビニュースなどに目を向け、授業で学んだ内容が現実社会の問題とどのようにリンクしているか意識すること。 【課題（試験やレポート）に対するフィードバックの方法】 テキストの音読・和訳、またディスカッションの内容については授業内で講評を加える。
