授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	- introducing qualitative and quantitative analysing research - conducting and reporting an interview. - researching for and writing, analysing data and presenting a survey - the focus of the class is a project in which students develop skills in organization, data analysis, group work, collaboration, and communication
授業概要 ／Course description	Students will choose an area of contemporary Japanese society for quantitative research using Google Forms.  Students will work in groups for their surveys unless they plan to use the data in a graduation report or thesis in which case it can be individual work

Week 2: Qualitative and Quantitative research, reading data Week 3: Qualitative research, interview Week 4: Introducing surveys, group work expectations Week 5: Deciding topics. What makes a good survey?  Week 6: Survey analysis mixing qualitative and quantitative Week 7: Survey analysis, questions, writing Week 8: Survey analysis, answers, writing Week 9: Survey writing Week 10: Survey refining Week 11: Analysing data Week 12: Analysing data, preparing presentations Week 13: Preparing Presentations Week 14: Presentations & discussion Week 15: Reflection
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	It's really important to come every week, because one class leads into the next. # If you can't come to class, you need to email before the class and make sure you contact classmates to catch up the work. # Students will research regularly for homework. # Students are required practice principles of communication, cooperation, community, and respect.  The syllabus may change in consultation with students. The class has four hours of studying time outside the classroom. 【授業外学修の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと。
