授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	Students will improve their English listening and speaking skills, while developing  general and specialized vocabulary.
授業概要 ／Course description	This is an English only course.  This course offers students an opportunity to build  upon skills they have acquired in Oral Communication courses I-II. Lessons consist  of broadly varied activities focusing on many themes and subjects pertaining to Japan. The details of the class and lesson procedures will be explained  during the first  session.
授業計画（授業の形式、スケジュール等） ／Class schedule	Week 1: Introductory class, (Self-introductions)  Week 2: Module 1a – Japan (the country) Week 3: Module 1b – Japan (the people) Week 4: Module 1c -- Japan (the philosophy)  Week 5: Module 2a – Home (the family) Week 6: Module 2b – Home (the house, household) Week 7: Review (1) – Quiz 1, Presentations Week 8: Module 3a – Society (the community) Week 9: Module 3b – Society (school, education) Week 10: Module 3c – Society (work) Week 11: Module 3d – Society (entertainment, leisure) Week 12:  Review (2) – Quiz 2, Presentations Week 13: Group Tests Week 14: Final Presentations Week 15:  Feedback and Review,  Wrap-up This is a guide for the course.   It is not fixed.  The pace will be adjusted as necessary.
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	Coming to class each week is important.  Students should expect to spend 1  to 2 hours outside of class for review and preparation for class each week. 【授業外学修の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと。

成績評価の方法 ／Evaluation	【評価方法】 The method of evaluation will include class participation (25%), presentations (30%) and group tests (25%) and the 2 written quizzes. (20%).   【評価基準】 Evaluation will be based on participation and performance in class, improvement in speaking and listening ability and tests.   【課題(試験やレポート)に対するフィードバックの方法】 授業内で行う。
