副題 ／SubTitle	Introducing Asia
授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	1. Develop knowledge and understanding of the Asian region including Japan from historical and contemporary perspectives. 2. Improve oral and written ability to communicate ideas in English. 3. Develop media literacy, visual literacy and ability to interpret data 4.Recognize, analyse and evaluate different perspectives. 5. Make connections between material studied in class and society. 6. Establish foundations for being international citizens who can analyse from a broad standpoint.  この授業はディプロマポリシー中の「 専攻する言語や文学、文化について、特定の問題を掘り下げ、自ら調査、研究して考えをまとめることができる」に対応しています。
授業概要 ／Course description	Students will research, analyze, discuss, write about, and present topics about Asia from historical and contemporary perspectives. Work will be conducted primarily as small group discussion.

準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	The class is conducted in English and based on group work. Students should have a positive attitude to English and groupwork.  The class expects students to embrace ISC values positively. 各回の授業外学習時間(予習・復習)には 4 時間程度かかると想定される。 【授業外学修の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと
教科書・参考書等 ／Textbooks	【教科書】Materials will be provided in class. 参考書等 Students are encouraged to read widely about Asia, in particular South East Asia and its relationship with Japan.
成績評価の方法 ／Evaluation	【評価方法】 Presentations: 20% Reflections: 10% Classwork; 30% Report 40% 【評価基準】 ◆Clear effort including research and deep thinking and the ability to reflect are required to receive good grades on all assignments.  ◆Students must work with classmates positively in a spirit of common learning. ◆Students must come to class prepared, with homework completed and actively participate every week.
備考 ／Notes	【フィードバックの方法】 ◆Feedback will be provided in Google Classroom, and final projects will be returned with an explanatory rubric. ◆Oral feedback will also be given.  ◆Students will have the opportunity to revise most of their work to take account of feedback. 【討議（ディスカッション、ディベート）を取り入れている】 【グループワークを取り入れている】 【発表（プレゼンテーション）を取り入れている】 【フィールドワーク、実習、実験、実技を取り入れている】 There may be 合宿・ Field trips depending on students.
