授業のねらいと達成目標 /Course Objectives |
The goal of this course is to raise students’ sensitivities for their everyday reality through critically analyzing the social structures and social life as they relate to Japan and its people. In this class, students will learn how to critically analyze social structures, social life, and social change as they relate to Japan and the people who live here. We go into depth on the concepts and frameworks we can use to investigate various aspects of society. Final projects will focus on applying these concepts to a specific social issue in Japan. The main learning goals of this course are to develop: 1) Analytical and critical thinking skills in relation to Japanese society and social life. 2) Social science literacy so that students can use it as tools and a lens through which they see society and the world. 3) Research and presentation skills in English. |
