- Develop knowledge of Japanese culture - Develop skills in assessing and analyzing information - Analyzing how tourism is marketed & how tourists experience tourism in Japan. - Making plans for foreign tourists coming to Japan - Using technology to communicate ideas - Collaborating with classmates on a project. |
授業概要 /Course description |
Students will look at tourist promotion material, travel guides and travel reviews to assess the tourism industry in Japan. Students taking this class will work in groups to research and present a plan for tourist visiting Japan. In making their plans students will research cultural events and sites, assess and evaluate comments from foreign tourists, and make recommendations based on different demographics and interests. |

1. Because group work is an important part of this course, students should only take this course if they plan to attend ALL classes. This includes 4th year students. 2. Students need to use technology, in particular shared files. 3. The class is taught in all English. Students need to be active and positive about using English in the class. 4. Students will work with classmates in different year groups. 各回の授業外学習時間(予習・復習)には4時間程度かかると想定される。 【授業外学修時間の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと。 |

【評価方法】 50% participation / homework 50% report and presentation 【評価基準】 To do well in this class, students should prepare well for each class, contribute positively to group work, have imagination, analytical ability, and flexible thinking when making plans. 【フィードバックの方法】 Feedback will be provided in rubrics in Google Classroom as well as discussion with students. Peer feedback will also be used. |

There will be a field trip in lieu of one of the classes. Students will use Google Classroom. If you are absent from the first class, make sure you contact the teacher so that you are added to the classroom. Class methods include groupwork, discussion, research, planning, presenting, and writing a report. |
