授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	Students will learn English listening and speaking skills, while engaging in the communicative exchanges which occur naturally in the discourse framework introduced with the topic contents.
授業概要 ／Course description	In this class we will be looking at English language movies. We will look at movies to examine the language used and the themes discussed. Through these movies, we will work on listening, communication, interpretation and discussion skills.  We will look at a variety of movie genres to give students a balanced exposure to various forms of cinema and the types of language and ideas they use and explore.
授業計画（授業の形式、スケジュール等） ／Class schedule	第1回：Introductions. Communication and orientation activities to introduce course contents and the participants.  第2回：The Dead Poets' Society 1 - Perspectives in life and learning.  第3回：The Dead Poet's Society 2 - Interpretation and response.  第4回：Elements of the movie: looking at genre, music and other aspects of cinema.  第5回：The Matrix 1: - The language of the scene. 第6回：The Matrix 2  - Decisions and consequences, discussion activities.  第7回：You are the teacher 1 - Student led scene analysis preparation. 第8回：You are the teacher 2 - Student led scene analysis, completing other students' activities.  第9回：The Breakfast Club 1 - Identity and youth roles. Analysing the movie. 第10回：The Breakfast Club  - Discussions of gender and youth representation.  第11回： The Village 1 - The culture of fear in modern society.  第12回：The Village 2 - Conspiracy theories and their consequences.  第13回：You are the teacher 3: Your scene analysis activities preparation.  第14回：You are the teacher 4: Students complete one another's exercises.  第15回：Test: Final test and course summary.
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	One hour per week are required for out of class learning. This may increase or decrease based upon the activities.  【授業外学修の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと。

成績評価の方法 ／Evaluation	【評価方法】 40% on first 'You are the Teacher' activity.  40% on second 'You are the Teacher' activity.  20% on final test.  【評価基準】  授業で扱ったテーマを理解している。 【課題(試験やレポート)に対するフィードバックの方法】 Feedback: I will give feedback after each graded activity.
