授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	Students will learn English listening and speaking skills, while engaging in the communicative exchanges which occur naturally in the discourse framework introduced with the topic contents.
授業概要 ／Course description	In this English only class we will look at multiple aspects of music, including lyrics, artists, songs, videos and historical aspects of musical influence. We will use this as a basis for discussions and presentations. Students will be expected to research, introduce and analyze songs, artists and other areas of musical genres.
授業計画（授業の形式、スケジュール等） ／Class schedule	第1回：Day one: introduction and orientation 第2回：Getting to know you: conversation activities. 第3回：Greatest hits: the songs and artists that have influenced you. 第4回：Empty spaces: lyrical analysis. 第5回：Another day of sun: music in movies. 第6回：Number one fan 1: profiling an artist and their influence in a presentation. 第7回：Number one fan 2: presentations about artists. Q and A. 第8回：What do you mean? Interpreting lyrics. 第9回：New frontier 1: researching an artist and song that you know nothing about. 第10回：New frontier 2: mini presentations about new artists and songs. 第11回：Thriller 1: meaning and influence in music videos. 第12回：Thriller 2: students present a music video with reactions. 第13回：Running up that hill: influential artists in music history. 第14回：Your song 1: students create activities about a song for other students to complete. 第15回：Your song 2: students complete activities prepared by other students.
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	One hour per week are required for out of class learning. This may increase or decrease based upon the activities.  【授業外学修の内容】 毎回の授業の予習と振り返りを行うこと。授業において指示した課題を行うこと。
