/Course Objectives
Students will improve their English listening and speaking skills, while engaging in the communicative exchanges which occur naturally in the discourse framework associated with the topic contents.
授業概要
/Course description
The purpose of the course is to give students experience with the formal and informal social language commonly used in business. The class will provide opportunities to develop the English language skills needed for international business communication. More emphasis will be on speaking in real life social situations in a business context.  

Students will be able to use appropriate vocabulary to:
• Show interest and make personal comments.
• Offer help and accept or refuse help.
• Describe food.
• Make small talk during a meal
• Talk about your country, city and culture and people. 
• Show a visitor around your hometown

第1回:Course Introduction; Business Report: Present a theme of your previous term’s work and give at least two examples of what you did or learned related to that theme.  [lecture, active learning through preparation and presentation]

準備学習・履修上の注意
/Notices
This class will be active. You will be expected to share ideas and respond to your classmates ideas about topics presented in class.

Since participation is a large part of the grade, attendance is required. If a student is absent, she must email the teacher in advance and she is responsible for all missed work.

It takes an hour per week for out-of-class learning.

All instruction will be in English, and the class activities include pair work and group work to encourage learning by interactive participation.
