副題 ／SubTitle	Advanced Integrated Writing I
授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	Students write in every class! Students brainstorm ideas for writing. Students draft and edit their work. Students learn about language devices to help make their writing more vivid and dynamic. Students do regular paragraph writing around a different theme. At the end of the course students submit a long essay (1000-word).
授業概要 ／Course description	In the first part of the course, students do regular paragraph writing. Each week the word count is increased. Students also participate in regular peer review and also small oral 'tests' to challenge the validity of their ideas and help them improve their work.    Students receive weekly feedback from the teacher. In the second part of the course, students write one longer piece.  Students learn about structure, form, tone, and language devices.  Students choose an area of interest as a topic and are encouraged to do some keen research to help them back up their ideas.  At the end students work is assessed, appraised and critiqued by their peers.
授業計画（授業の形式、スケジュール等） ／Class schedule	第1回：Part One. Introduction. Write about yourself, your interests and free time 第2回：Write about your weekend, and things you do in the morning, afternoon and evening. 第3回：Write about your likes and dislikes, and your lifestyle choices. 第4回：Write about yourself and others in your family or circle of friends. 第5回：Write about a trip you took at high school or during a vacation. 第6回：Write a letter to a family member, loved one, or friend. 第7回：Part Two. Choosing a topic for your essay. Understanding structure and reading examples. 第8回：Deciding a topic and reading more examples. 第9回：Working on your introduction and thesis statement. 第10回：Working on body paragraph one. Introducing research. 第11回：Working on body paragraph two. Developing Arguments. 第12回：Working on body paragraph three. In-text citations. 第13回：Working on your conclusion. Reference list. 第14回：Peer feedback. 第15回：Submitting your work and short 'viva voce' (peer oral examination).
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	I have a few rules for this class: Please be willing to work with all peers. Always ask a question to the teacher. Bring a moderate level of enthusiasm with you to class. Complete your work by the deadline.
