授業のねらいと達成目標 /Course Objectives |
In the Advanced Integrated Writing, the aim is to further develop students’ awareness and understanding of the similarities and differences between groups of people in the wider world beyond Japan. Students will write powerful essays and expand various writing skills including error correction, grammar usage, punctuation usage, style, summarizing, and paraphrasing. The course will help you to write successful thesis statements and fine tune your writing skills. A variety of writing concepts and techniques will guide you in developing clearer, more organized writing. You will also learn to effectively revise your work through peer editing exercises. |

After completing this course, you will be able to: - Plan and write sophisticated argumentative and descriptive essays. -Read and analyze several articles to form your own opinion on a topic. - Peer edit your classmates' work. - Make connections between several articles and form thesis statements from your readings. - Identify common literary devices found in literature. - Use sources effectively when writing an essay. |

Students should bring a dictionary, a binder, red and blue pens, and loose leaf paper to class each week. Bringing a tablet or laptop (if available) will be useful. You are required to do one hour (60 minutes) of outside of class study each week. |
