Students will improve their English writing skills, while engaging in the communicative exchanges which occur naturally in the discourse framework associated with the topic contents. この授業は以下のディプロマポリシーに対応している。 〔2022年度以前入学者〕 専攻する言語について、高度なコミュニケーション能力を身につけている。現代社会に求められる外国語学習を通じ、異文化への深い理解のために必須な能力を身につけている。 |
| 授業概要 ／Course description |
Writers, historians, business leaders, cognitive scientists, linguists, and educators all claim that storytelling is fundamental to the human experience. In this four-skilled-based course, we will investigate and practice the intentional use of narrative in our life. Extensive reading and listening of practical forms of storytelling are examined, and students will build a written and oral portfolio demonstrating their development of the craft of applied storytelling. Students are also required to keep a weekly journal. Autumn semester focuses on storytelling in our professional lives. 担当教員はすべてネイティブ・スピーカーによるクラスです。ペアワークやグループワーク、プレゼンなど、すべての受講生が積極的に英語を使うことが求められます。 The class is taught by an English native teacher. All students need to speak English in pair or group work and presentation. |

積極的に授業に参加し、発言をすることが求められる授業です。黙って座っていて学べることは少ないので、自分から発言する、自分から質問をする、そして自分から動く（働きかける）ことをいつも心がけて下さい。 1日の予習復習時間は1時間程度を想定しています。 Active participation is necessary to pass the course. It takes 1 hour per week for out-of-class learning. |
