副題 ／SubTitle	Writing a graduation thesis.
授業のねらいと達成目標 ／Course Objectives	This course is to guide students through the process of writing a graduation thesis in English. they will develop their ability to think critically and analyze their topic under research. At the end, students will have been able to submit a thesis that satisfies both the requirements of the department for graduation, and their own intellectual and English language curiosity and development.
授業概要 ／Course description	The course will be interactive and expect a high degree of active involvement from the students, as they make their way through the process of choosing and narrowing a topic on which to write their thesis. Guidance will be given on topic selection, research and how to write. Students will be shown how to use the library and also how to use wisely and effectively new tools, such as referencing software, and AI.
授業計画（授業の形式、スケジュール等） ／Class schedule	第1回：Report on summer progress and plan for the semester. 第2回： Reviewing the introduction and lit. review.  第3回：Writing up the data.  第4回：Making data visualisations.  第5回：Getting started on the discussion section.   第6回： Continuing work on the thesis body.  第7回： Getting feedback and making revisions.  第8回： Taking stock. What have we learned? Is anything missing? 第9回：Finishing the body of the thesis.  第10回：Writing the conclusion continued. Compiling the references.  第11回：Feedback and revising. Tidying the references.  第12回：Final proof-reading and submission.  第13回： Reflection the thesis: What did we learn?  第14回： Reflection on the thesis: How our knowledge can be used in the future? 第15回： Practice for oral defence.
準備学習・履修上の注意 ／Notices	Students should take part actively and attend regularly. They will benefit most if they come prepared and ready to discuss their own ideas and ask questions. Preparation and homework will take four hours a week.
